Fighting hunger and isolation…
One step at a time
The Skagit County Meals on Wheels Program has a thirty year history of working to provide services to meet the priority issue of hunger that exists among senior citizens residing in Skagit County.
The Meals on Wheels Program provides nutritious, noontime meals to senior citizens, age 60 and older, who have difficulty leaving their home unassisted and who are unable to prepare their own meals. In fact, Skagit County is one of the few programs in Washington State that can still deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors in the community. By using only the freshest ingredients, they are prepared Monday through Friday at our central kitchen and are delivered at lunchtime by volunteers – providing the daily one-on-one contact that many seniors look forward to every day.
